BuzzBuilderz Official Website: Social Media is not about Technology

  • Ben Watson · 1 year ago
This is a good viewpoint to get people moving in the right direction, in my opinion. In fairness to technology (and the tech guy) we have to use technology but the plug-in/screen part is not really the point. Social media requires technology infrastructure, which in fact does plug in, but who cares. The reason most people hand it off to their tech guy is because of this same view of technology - gadgets, devices, wires, uber-geekdom. It's too bad because it is a bit like saying CSI and the 11 o' clock news are all about tubes, LCDs and universal remotes - and if you couldn't get past the flashing 12:00 back in the 80's you should probably pick up a book.

Excellent points, Bill. I think a lot of people psyche themselves out of expanding their SM reach because the are intimidated by technology. The reality is that there are a million different ways to express oneself and engage potential customers out there-pick the one (or two or four!) that fit your style and it will be a winner.

I love this post. So true. There are so many people who spend time trying to figure out all the technology and are so obsessed with plug ins that they never generate any content. Same with cameras. The same people who asked me what kind of camera I use last year still have not taken any pictures. Just do it! If it doesn't work try something else.
